OPAZ Board of Directors holds its third meeting for the year 2024

The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) held its third meeting for the year 2024 in Muscat, chaired by H.E Al Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Chairman of the Board. The Board reviewed the executive procedures for the findings of the study of the Ministry of Economy to establish integrated industrial clusters in the Shalim Industrial Minerals, Cold Chains and Food Industries Zone in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm and the aluminum-based industries in Sohar Free Zone, as well as to link these industrial clusters to the industrial strategy.
The Khazaen Economic City project's advancements and completion rates have been reviewed by the Board. It also reviewed the phases of building roads, water drainage channels, and infrastructure to prevent flooding in Mahas Industrial City in the Wilayat of Khasab, Musandam Governorate.
Several other topics related to economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities under the Authority's supervision were also discussed in the meeting, including the executive position of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm's visual identity, the approval of facilities and incentives for projects using modern building methods.
