OPAZ launches Experiences to benefit from retired national talents
The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) launched the Experiences initiative during its press conference. The initiative came as an outcome of the discussions and recommendations presented at the Together Forward forum and emphasised the importance of establishing a structured mechanism to catalogue national expertise across various specialisations and benefit from their accumulated experience in consultancy, project management, training, and knowledge transfer. This will support development initiatives in the special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities.
The initiative aligns with the OPAZ’s direction to maximise the utilisation of national talents, particularly retirees from both the public and private sectors, in developing the OPAZ’s work and the economic zones, free zones and industrial cities. It also aims to establish a comprehensive database of national expertise to attract and utilise competencies in line with relevant business needs and enhance operational efficiency.
The Experiences initiative aims to build a database that includes academic qualifications, professional experience, and areas of specialisation, enabling the Authority and the zone administrations under its supervision to engage national competencies based on specific needs. This will contribute to sustaining institutional knowledge and strengthening integration between professional generations.
The OPAZ invited those interested in joining the initiative to complete the designated form to register their professional and academic details by visiting its official website (opaz.gov.om/experiences), entering the required information, and attaching a copy of their CV.
It affirmed that the Experiences initiative represents a practical step towards transforming national expertise into added value that supports economic development and enhances performance efficiency across various projects and initiatives related to the special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities.
