OPAZ takes part in Kazan International Forum
The OPAZ delegation is led by H.E. Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, Deputy Chairman of OPAZ. The participation aims to promote the investment environment across the Sultanate of Oman’s special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities, while shedding light on the incentives and advantages offered to international investors. It also seeks to strengthen strategic partnerships, open new avenues of cooperation with the Russian side, particularly the Republic of Tatarstan, and exchange expertise in technical infrastructure and specialised economic zone management.
During his participation in the panel discussions, H.E. Eng. Al Dheeb affirmed that the Sultanate of Oman offers a wide range of investment opportunities for investors from around the world. Speaking at the ‘International Industrial Cooperation’ session, he noted that the Sultanate of Oman benefits from supportive infrastructure for industrial projects, in addition to a network of ports that contribute to the growth of industrial exports. He also highlighted the infrastructure solutions provided by the economic zones, available investment opportunities, and the importance of logistics integration.
As part of his participation in the panel sessions and meetings during the Oman–Russia Business Forum hosted by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended by H.E. Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, H.E. Eng. Al Dheeb delivered a speech reviewing the promising investment opportunities available in the Sultanate of Oman’s special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities. He shed light on the industrial and logistics capabilities of these zones and the supportive investment environment for value chains, noting that investments in these areas have grown by over 50% over the past five years.
During the forum, H.E. Eng. Al Dheeb visited several economic zones in the Republic of Tatarstan, where he reviewed best practices in the management and development of special economic zones and discussed cooperation in exchanging expertise in economic zone management. He and the accompanying delegation visited the Alabuga Special Economic Zone and reviewed the real estate solutions offered to investors and the ongoing projects in the zone. The delegation also toured truck chassis manufacturing facilities and the Aurus vehicle assembly plant, in addition to visiting Polytech College, an advanced industrial training centre that provides the specialised skills required to support the economic zone with qualified talent.
H.E. Eng. Al Dheeb also visited the IT Park in Kazan and the Innopolis Special Economic Zone, one of the leading technological and innovation hubs in the Republic of Tatarstan, which aims to attract investments in advanced technology and information technology sectors.
