Next October The Second Edition of the Duqm Economic Forum to Be Launched

The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones OPAZ will organize the second edition of the Duqm Economic Forum on October 27–28, with the participation of numerous investors and decision-makers from within the Sultanate of Oman and abroad.
His Excellency Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones OPAZ and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Duqm Economic Forum, stated that holding the second edition of the forum follows the success of the inaugural edition in October 2023, which witnessed the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding in the green industry sector. These initiatives reflect the Authority's efforts to support Oman's carbon neutrality goals.
His Excellency added, in a statement to the Oman News Agency, that the 2025 edition of the Duqm Economic Forum will focus on three main themes that align with the strategy of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm SEZAD and support the goals of Oman Vision 2040, particularly economic diversification and leading the transition toward green industries for sustainable investment and development in the Sultanate.
The first theme will be titled “Green Industries and Finance,” highlighting the ongoing and planned large-scale investments in renewable energy-based green industries. The second theme, “Tourism and Smart Cities,” will explore opportunities to develop sustainable cities driven by innovation and to offer attractive tourism products. The third theme, “Artificial Intelligence Solutions,” will focus on the rapid digital transformation of industries, smart infrastructure systems, and how they are reshaping future cities and enhancing corporate competitiveness in global markets.
The Special Economic Zone at SEZAD has become a prominent investment destination, successfully attracting and establishing strategic economic partnerships in key sectors such as renewable energy, green hydrogen, green industries, fisheries, petrochemicals, and a variety of other sectors.
